Weed Control and Fertilization

  • Grow a yard you’ll love without a contract

Partnering with Arkansas Turf Management for your weed control and fertilization means choosing a healthier, thicker lawn without being locked into a contract. Whether your yard is newly established or currently under someone else’s program, we can help turn it into a lawn you’re proud of.

A Program Built for Arkansas Lawns

We start with a thorough assessment of your property to understand what your lawn needs and when it needs it. Every yard is different, and we don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Based on your grass type, soil condition, and weed pressure, we build a custom plan using only the best products available.

Our eight-application program is designed to give your lawn exactly what it needs throughout the year. This includes pre-emergent weed control in early spring, post-emergent treatments during the growing season, and fertilizer applications that build deep roots and thick turf. Each visit is timed to match seasonal growth and weed activity so your lawn gets consistent care at the right time.

    Advanced Weed Control That Works

Even lawns that are already being treated can struggle with weeds. We see it all the time — missed spots, weak applications, or the wrong products for the job. That’s where we do things differently.

We use advanced weed control methods that target a wide range of broadleaf and grassy weeds. From spurge and clover to crabgrass and nutsedge, we go after the root of the problem. And we don’t just spray and leave. We walk properties, assess pressure zones, and adjust treatments as needed to stay ahead of trouble.

    Fertilization That Builds Resilient Turf

A well-fed lawn is a stronger lawn. Our fertilization program promotes deeper roots, thicker coverage, and better color while improving your turf’s ability to handle heat, drought, and foot traffic. Each application is carefully balanced to support growth without overstimulating weeds or stressing the soil.

With regular fertilization, you’ll notice your grass filling in thin areas, outcompeting weeds naturally, and holding color longer into the season.

    Real Expertise. Real Results.

Our technicians bring years of turf management experience to every job. We don’t rush through treatments or rely on guesswork. We monitor conditions, stay ahead of weed cycles, and make sure your lawn is getting exactly what it needs. You’ll see the difference in how we work — and in how your lawn looks and feels.

Whether you’ve had problems with weeds in the past or just want your lawn to stand out, we can help.

  • Our 8 Step Lawn Care Program

Step 1: Late Winter (February to Mid-March)

Weed Prevention and Root Strengthening: As winter transitions into early spring, we apply a pre-emergent treatment to prevent weeds from taking root before they have a chance to grow. We also strengthen your lawn’s roots with a potassium treatment, preparing it for the growth spurt that comes with warmer temperatures.

Step 2: Early Spring (March to April)

Fertilization and Spot Weed Control: With temperatures warming and the lawn emerging from dormancy, we apply a balanced fertilizer to support healthy growth. During this period, we also spot-treat any weeds that have started to appear, ensuring they don’t spread as the weather continues to warm.

Step 3: Mid-Spring (March to May)

Continued Weed Prevention and Nutrient Boost: As spring progresses, we apply another round of pre-emergent treatment to extend weed prevention into the warmer months. This step includes additional fertilization to keep your lawn growing thick and strong as temperatures rise.

Step 4: Late Spring (May to June)

Deep Fertilization and Turf Strengthening: As the days get longer and temperatures increase, we provide a deep fertilization to enhance your lawn’s color, density, and overall health. This step is crucial for preparing your lawn to handle the approaching summer heat.

Step 5: Early Summer (June to August)

Weed Control and Soil Health Improvement: During the early summer months, when temperatures are at their peak, we focus on controlling any stubborn broadleaf or grassy weeds through targeted spot treatments. We also improve the soil’s ability to retain nutrients and water, which is essential for maintaining a healthy lawn during hot and dry conditions.

Step 6: Mid-Summer (July to August)

Summer Stress Management: With the continued heat and potential drought conditions, we apply treatments to help your lawn manage summer stress. This includes fertilization and micronutrients that support your lawn’s resilience, keeping it green and healthy even in challenging weather.

Step 7: Early Fall (September to October)

Fall Weed Prevention and Spot Treatments: As temperatures begin to cool, we apply a fall pre-emergent to prevent cool-season weeds from germinating. We also continue with spot treatments to manage any existing weeds, ensuring your lawn remains clean as it prepares for winter.

Step 8: Late Fall (October to November)

Winterization and Final Weed Prevention: Before the onset of winter, we winterize your lawn by applying a final round of pre-emergent weed control and treatments that protect it from the cold. This step helps your lawn enter dormancy in a healthy state, ready to bounce back strong in the spring.
